We like to showcase the places and wildlife local to us to keep our carbon footprint down; however, we can offer experiences further afield in the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park and other parts of Perthshire. We can also visit other parts of Scotland as part of a longer tour experience. For example: Cairngorms National Park for Crested Tits, Slavonian Grebe or Capercaillie; Tay Reedbeds for Bearded Tit, Marsh Harrier or maybe Hobby and the Angus coast or Chanonry Point for Bottlenose Dolphins.
Yes, if you book through the booking funnel on our website, you will have the option of paying by card at the time of booking or to pay on the day. If paying on the day, we are happy to take cash and can also take card payments. We no longer accept cheques.
If you are paying for our ecological consultancy services, an invoice will be issued once all agreed work has been completed and we kindly request payment by bank transfer.
Yes. Aquila Ecology holds Public Liability Insurance, appropriate vehicle insurance for business use and Professional Indemnity Insurance for professional services. A PCV licence is not required for vehicles with 9 or less seats and we hold full category B (car) driving licences that include minibuses (up to 9 seats).
We can’t and won’t guarantee sightings of certain species as we cannot predict wildlife. We will take you to places where we would expect to see certain species and time our walks and tours when the most likely times to see certain species would be. If you are not satisfied after your experience with us, we may be prepared to offer a discount on another experience, however we would always hope there are plenty of other fascinating species present to show you and tell you about to ensure you go away happy.
Andrea holds Schedule 1 bat survey licences and a Schedule 1 bird survey license for a number of Raptor and Owl species (in Perthshire) and works with a number of other professionals who also hold these licences. We also work with professionals who hold a Schedule 1 Great Crested Newt survey licences.
Yes, Andrea is a Chartered Associate of the Project Management Institute (CAPM) and is able to source sub-contractors to complete survey work and reporting on larger or longer term projects including Ecological Clerk of Works.
Yes, we work with a number of colleagues based in England who can assist with survey work in England. We also have satellite bases in Northwest England and Oxfordshire.
